What the council asks for (12)
- Minimum 10 working days' notice required before licence issue.
- Scaffold must comply with BS EN 12810, BS EN 12811 and TG20:21 standards.
- On-site operatives must hold CISRS, OSAT NVQ or equivalent competence certification.
- Minimum unobstructed footway width of 1.5m must be maintained for pedestrians.
- Scaffold standards painted white or hi-vis padded/taped for first 2.0m above ground.
- Pedestrian walk-through must have 2.4m clearance and 1.2m width unless alternative safe route verified.
- Scaffold must be kept min. 450mm from carriageway edge and 5.05m height above kerb where practicable.
- Scaffold must be lit with red warning lights at ends and every 4m during darkness.
- Contact name/address/phone board (min 600x450mm) must be displayed on site.
- Proof of Public Liability Insurance of at least £10,000,000 required before licence granted.
- Site plan detailing area of highway to be occupied must be submitted with application.
- A bond/cash deposit may be required before licence issue, based on ground area and surface type.
