What the council asks for (11)
- Must register as a Scaffold Company or Building Contractor before applying
- Complete an application form and return to local area highways office
- Provide copies of £5 million Public Liability Insurance certificates showing amount and expiry date
- Provide up to date NASC certificate or CISRS cards for 'Scaffolder'/'Advanced Scaffolder'
- Scaffold/hoarding normally only permitted on footway, not carriageway/back street
- Not permitted on highway with a parking-restriction traffic regulation order unless agreed
- Contact district council first if scaffold affects street cleaning, parking or refuse collection
- Maintain at least 1.5m of footway for pedestrians; may need traffic management if less
- Scaffold licences over the road require prior special permission and traffic management plan
- Reimburse authority for loss of on-street parking income where applicable
- Company responsible for design, erection, dismantling, ties, lighting, netting and foundations
