- Safe working area at ground level required during erection/dismantling to prevent pedestrian access
- In town centres, erection/dismantling must be done outside normal working hours (before 8am, after 6pm or Sunday)
- Scaffolding requires illumination unless clearances of 0.45m horizontal from carriageway and 2.4m vertical above footway are met
- Pedestrian walkways must be maintained around the scaffolding, or designed for safe access under/through
- Poles must be maintained to allow wheelchairs/prams to pass safely
